1.  PASSWORD SELF-SERVICE (FOR STAFF)

NB: In order for staff members to use the Password Self-Service, they have to firstly do a once off registration. The steps for the registration are below. (If you have already registered for the service, you can skip to the

How to reset your password (section further below.)

2. Registration:

  1. Via an internet browser, go to https://passwordregistration.wits.ac.za.
  2. For the User Name enter ds\staff number and for the Password enter your email password. (If your machine is on the staff domain and you are logged into the domain with your profile, then you will skip this step and go straight to step 3.) Click on Ok.
  3. Click on Next.
  4. Type in your email password and click on Next.
  5. Enter your cell phone number and click on Next.
  6. You are now registered for the Password Self-Service.

3. HOW TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD:

  1. Via an internet browser, go to https://passwordreset.wits.ac.za.
  2. Enter ds\staff number or staff number@wits.ac.za and click on Next.
  3. You will then receive an SMS on the cell number that you supplied in the initial registration process above. Type in the security code you received and then click on Next.
  4. Type in a new password of your choice and re-type it, then click Next.

You have now successfully reset your password.
